In most tools a campaign points at a living template. Fix a typo after the send and the record of what went out changes with it. When a customer disputes what an email said, or a colleague asks why the offer looks different, there is no original to consult.
Publishing a template in SendNectar freezes an immutable, hash-verified version. Campaigns and transactional sends reference that version, not the draft — so the record of what a contact received is exact and permanent.

Immutable published versions
Each publish produces a frozen version with a content hash. Later edits create new versions and leave the old ones untouched.
Sends pin to a version
Campaigns and transactional requests reference a template version ID. A draft edit can never retroactively change a completed send.
