EU-based, genuinely cheap, and a competitor we also integrate with.

Best for eu senders who want low cost

Approx. cost
Brevo sells a marketing platform and a separate transactional email product on different pricing mechanics. Public sources disagree on the detail, so check their pricing page directly rather than trusting a summary — including this one.
What you want here
The transactional / SMTP product. The marketing platform overlaps with SendNectar and you would be paying twice.
Free tier
A daily send allowance, useful for testing
Data residency
EU-based, which is the main reason teams choose it over SES
Setup effort
Low — verify a domain, generate SMTP credentials
Best fit
EU-focused senders at low to moderate volume
Honest assessment

Where it wins, where it does not.

Strengths
  • EU-based infrastructure, which resolves a data residency question that SES and SendGrid make you work harder to answer.
  • Genuinely inexpensive at low to moderate volume, with a free tier large enough to test properly.
  • Straightforward SMTP setup — no sandbox request, no lengthy approval process.
  • Established deliverability operation with a long history under its previous name.
Trade-offs
  • The pricing model is unusually hard to pin down from outside, and public summaries contradict each other. Verify on their own page before committing.
  • Less competitive at high volume than SES, where the per-message gap compounds.
  • Fewer infrastructure controls than AWS if you want to tune things at a low level.
  • You are buying delivery from a company that also sells the layer SendNectar provides — see below.

01

Use the transactional product, not the marketing platform

Brevo sells both. The marketing platform duplicates what SendNectar does — audiences, campaigns, automation — and you would be paying for it twice. You want the SMTP and transactional side.

02

Verify your sending domain

Add the domain in Brevo and publish the DKIM and Brevo code records it provides. Use a subdomain such as news.yourbrand.com to keep marketing reputation separate.

03

Generate SMTP credentials

Create SMTP credentials from the transactional settings. These are distinct from your Brevo account login.

04

Connect it in SendNectar

Add a provider connection with type brevo, set its purpose, and submit the credentials. They go to a dedicated endpoint and are encrypted server-side; the API never returns them afterwards.

05

Run the connection test

Validate against real health checks before production mail moves, then create a sender profile pinned to the verified domain.

The awkward, honest bit

Brevo is a competitor. It sells an all-in-one marketing platform that does much of what SendNectar does, and if you are reading this page you may well be choosing between them.

We support it as a delivery provider anyway, because refusing to would be punishing you for our commercial preferences. If Brevo’s infrastructure is the right pipe for your mail, use it.

What that means practically: buy the transactional and SMTP product, not the marketing platform. Running Brevo’s marketing platform and SendNectar means two systems each holding a partial view of your audience, two consent records, and two places where a suppression might or might not have applied. Pick one orchestration layer.

If Brevo’s marketing platform suits you better than SendNectar does — and for a single brand at modest volume it may well — then use it and skip us. We would rather say that than sell you a setup that fights itself.

When Brevo is the right delivery choice

Data residency. EU-based infrastructure answers a question that SES and SendGrid make you work harder to satisfy. For teams with a genuine obligation here, that alone can decide it.

Low to moderate volume. The pricing is competitive in this range and the free tier is large enough to actually validate a setup.

No approval friction. There is no sandbox request to submit and wait on, which makes it noticeably faster to get to a first real send than SES.

Verify the pricing yourself

We are being deliberately vague about numbers on this page. Brevo runs two products on different mechanics, and the public summaries we could find contradict each other on whether the transactional side bills per email or per contact.

Rather than publish a figure we cannot stand behind, we are telling you to check their pricing page — and treating that as the honest answer.

Notes for multi-brand senders

One verified domain per brand. As everywhere: reputation accrues per domain.

Separate SMTP credentials per brand if your account structure allows it, so that rotating or revoking one brand’s access does not disturb the others.
